Our Founding Team

FinCatch is developing a platform that makes information relationships visible and quantifies their financial impacts to generate actionable investment insights. Through a combination of knowledge graphs, fine-tuned large language models with reinforcement learning from human feedback, and predictive machine learning, the platform analyzes connections between daily events, fundamentals, earnings, geopolitics, and other factors influencing financial asset price movements.

The platform will provide users with a clearer view of true market dynamics and offer key features including knowledge graph visualization for researching impactful events, quick summaries of consequences and implications, and in-depth analyses of both direct and indirect financial effects on companies and sectors. The goal is to help self-directed investors and analysts conduct independent research.

The diverse expertise and qualifications of the core team members position FinCatch to meet the needs of advanced investors through a combination of rigorous analysis, user insights, technological innovation, and data-driven insights.

Lok Kan and Michael have extensive domain expertise that supports their idea. Lok Kan has over 12 years of experience in finance, with strong expertise in equity research and asset management. Michael also has over 8 years of experience in risk management and wealth management. Meanwhile, Harry and Frederick drive technological innovation with deep learning and data science expertise.

The three co-founders had the initial idea in late August 2023 and formally launched the project in October 2023. Lok Kan and Michael have dedicated full-time efforts since then, focusing on product planning, market research, and fundraising. Harry has worked on system design and model building alongside his research activities at the university. The company was officially established in early January 2024 with initial funding secured from Cyberport Hong Kong in late December 2023.
